Does it take a long time for a piercing to heal?

That depends on your condition, your lifestyle and the place where the piercing was placed. The healthier you live and the more seriously you take your piercing, the shorter the healing process.

How do I take care of my new piercing?

After your piercing has been placed, the piercer will tell you how best to deal with it from now on. You will also receive a letter with everything explained in detail. The piercer has done her best and we also recommend that you take your piercing seriously.

REMAIN WITH UNWASHED HANDS AFTER PUTTING YOUR PIERCING. LET IT REST AND GIVE YOUR PIERCING TIME TO HEAL!!

Washing your piercing

Never use sterilon or betadine! Boil water and put it in a cup, then add a teaspoon of sea salt, stir and let it cool to lukewarm. Wash your hands well with Unicura! Take clean cotton swabs and clean your piercing on both sides, gently dry with a clean cotton swab. Do not pick off scabs, this can open the wound again.

You should clean your piercing twice a day during the healing period
. If you have a navel or nipple piercing, put on a clean shirt when you go to bed for the first two weeks.

What I can and cannot do with a new piercing:

Do not swim in (chlorinated) water, use a solarium or sauna for 4 to 8 weeks (do not soak in water).
Avoid make-up, perfume, shaving soap, aftershave or other strong soap around or on your new piercing.
DO NOT use sterilon, Betadine or alcohol on your piercing.
Don’t twist the piercing if there are scabs on it.
Avoid bubble baths until the piercing has healed.
Do not close the piercing with greasy ointment, the wound needs oxygen to heal.
Do not remove the piercing during healing.
The healing period of your ear piercing depends on your lifestyle. The healthier you live, the faster your piercing will heal. How long does it take for your piercing to heal:

Navel 4 – 8 months
Cartilage (ear) 3 – 9 months
Nipple 3 – 9 months
Eyebrow 3 – 4 months
Nose 4 – 8 months
Lip 6 – 8 weeks
Tongue 4 – 8 weeks

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE JEWELRY PLACED MUST STAY 6 MONTHS IN MOST CASES!

This way, you can wash your intimate piercing
twice a day with warm water.
After each use of the toilet, care for with unicura wet wipes for 3 weeks.
No sauna, steam baths, bubble baths for at least 3 weeks. You are also not allowed to swim, wash with soap and take a bath. Showering is allowed.

Special rules for men
No sex for the first 2 weeks.
2 to 4 weeks: use a condom, preferably a reinforced condom because it can tear. Avoid erections in the first two weeks, urinate while sitting.
If you do go to pee standing up, keep in mind that your pee does not only come out before.
Healing period is 4-6 weeks.
